Tom Petrocelli's take on technology. Tom is the author of the book "Data Protection and Information Lifecycle Management" and a natural technology curmudgeon. This blog represents only my own views and not those of my employer, Enterprise Strategy Group. Frankly, mine are more amusing.

The Post That Got Me in LinkedIn Jail

Hello Fellow Travelers of the Internet. I posted this on December 22, 2025 on LinkedIn. It was taken down because it violated "Community Standards". They didn't bother to tell me which of the many standards, nor did they allow much of an appeal. So, here it is for your personal edification.

Just a quick musing about Vice President JD Vance. He recently said that we white people no longer have to apologize for being white. No one ever had to apologize for being white; what you have to apologize for is being an a$$hole. That's what he's really going on about - the right to be an as$hole to people.
He then went on to insult a host of people which just proves my point.

I've Been Posting on LinkedIn

If you perused my Blogger posts, you would know that I used to blog here. Then I didn't as I moved everything to my own website. Which lasted a solid ten years until I shut it down after I retired.

But I couldn't stay away, For the last 11 months, I've been posting a lot over on LinkedIn. It all started when I became irritated at the Tech Community, the business end of it anyway, bending the knee to whatever craziness the new US administration perpetrated on any given day. That has expanded into an irreverent take on the news of the day, often lambasting the increasing chaos of our political system.

I choose LinkedIn for two reasons. One, the tech audience was there. Two, my posts are short form and fit the character of LinkedIn better than other platforms. I've given up on Twitter or X or whatever crazy name Elon Musk has given it today. That's become a cesspool.

So, look for me on LinkedIn, if we are already connected.
